Mannestone

The 1st round of consultation by Cartner & Musgrave has already come and gone and now the legal owners of the site announce a further 2 meetings with locals to discuss their plans

This builds on their plans for the site and their vision is displayed below

This consultation process will be driven by the people of Thanet and they welcome all comments which will drive their plans. So if you want schools, doctor's surgerys, transport links, etc come and make it your plans.
On a personal note much planning has been imposed and it is a pleasant change to be asked before plans go to TDC for approval.

"The village, within which the site is located, was originally known as ‘Mannestone,’ meaning ‘farm on the top of a hill.’ We recognise that heritage is important and have developed a name for the site that captures the original etymology of Manston, whilst looking ahead to a brighter future. Stone Hill Park will capture the best of the site’s heritage through our partnerships with the Spitfire and RAF Museums, capitalising on the vistas and views as the parkland and homes are developed, and become the focus point for businesses seeking growth and connectivity."

So remember these dates

3rd December 2015 3pm - 7:30pm Pegwell Bay Hotel

4th December 2015 3pm - 7:30pm Holiday Inn, Minster

Be aware for some reason a group of Pro supporters are threatening to protest outside

    1. At least they are consulting with the residents of Thanet unlike Riveroak who have had a year to organise and have done exactly nothing except orchestrate a campaign that Goebbels would have been proud of

    2. Rush it through, the owners have been waiting for over a year,Iike to ser TDC and SHP work together now for the good of East Kent and really put the área back on the Map.

    3. 13:02 The map would be redrawn to a 4th town. Or is it a 5th town with WC? Or a 6th town with the Discovery Park houses they tried? Infill and overbuild destroys an area for a few construction companies profits.

    1. No that's just a general plan of the whole site anon. You obviously have no idea about planning. Their last consultations talked about 2500 houses so where did you get your figure from. Yes the developer has published and I expect they will do when plans are submitted to TDC. Why don't you leave your keyboard and go and look

    2. It's a very general plan Barry to the point of incomprehension...2500 houses you say? You've no idea how they'll then squeeze a few more in...why don't you go and look at the cartoon?

    3. I would think that there plan so far would make the owners hundreds of millions profit, for a Nicker! So they will not be pushing it!They if they did try it on would come well and truely unstuck.
Humpty would be laying eggs if that woz to happen.

    1. Thanet is coming alive from the used to be Airport, which knocked out 100 mil plus over a 15 years, and along the way took monjes from all kinds of people/councils and knocked that out as well.Somewhat like a "ponsee ski em" Oh Humpty Dumptys spelling is bad,15:13 .

  6. At last a real company with real plans. The reality is that we in Thanet will profit by this scheme, so i suggest any naysayers go and discuss the new proposals, as its no good saying later Boo hoo i only wanted an airport and i would have liked to this to have happened, or i didn't like the name!
